To Whom It May Concern,

I have been a Reach School parent for 4 years.  My son, who is now in Kindergarten, started at the Reach School when he was 3.  When he started he was almost completely nonverbal. He couldn't touch his nose when asked and had to be taught to point.  He had so many challenges ahead of him. I had read the research that pointed towards the earliest years of intervention as being the most critical to a child with Autism. I hoped with all my heart that the school could meet his challenges.

The Reach School staff exceeded any expectations I had. They taught me as a parent not to set limits on my expectations of my son.  What they taught my son is immeasurable. They unlocked his potential. They helped him through his happy times and toughest days.  They taught him with dignity, respect and without judgment.  They also helped support our family when we had questions we didn't know how to answer.  And believe me, there were a lot. The teachers and therapists were extremely knowledgeable, dedicated, and energetic.  And the community of parents was very supportive of one another.

Today my son still has many challenges ahead of him.  However, now sometimes I can't get him to stop talking. He has a silly sense of humor and has many interests. Now his sister is in her second year of Reach and she is beginning to blossom. She has PDD-NOS and has also found her niche at the school. I am pleased how the school can knowledgably accommodate kids from the entire range of the spectrum.  I would recommend the Reach School to any parent who is considering it for their child.  The school is such a gift to our family and the entire community.
